South Korea:

South Korea has the fastest internet speed in the world. Its speed is 5 times faster than Japan’s (the second place), which is 18.2 Mbps. The average speed of any country in this top is 8 Mbps.

Sweden:

Sweden has a pretty high internet speed, 14.9 Mbps, but since its population isn’t that big, it only ends up in second place. Their speeds are at least twice as fast as Germany or Switzerland’s (the third and fourth place).

Norway:

Norway hasn’t always been on Top 10 lists, but they managed to get at least a placement here with their 12.7 Mbps internet speed which is slightly more than twice as fast as the average of the list!

Switzerland:

Switzerland has an amazing internet speed, being exactly 2 times faster than Germany’s, which in turn has an 8.5 Mbps. It may be less than in Sweden or Norway, but it is still pretty fast.

Japan:

Japan’s 18.2 Mbps isn’t high in comparison to South Korea’s speed, but together with its huge population, it gets it in third place, right after South Korea.

Switzerland:

Switzerland has an amazing internet speed, being exactly 2 times faster than Germany’s, which in turn has an 8.5 Mbps. It may be less than in Sweden or Norway, but it is still pretty fast.

Denmark:

Denmark’s internet speed isn’t very high but it is still better than average (which is 8 Mbps ). They are 1.5 times slower than Finland (the eighth place). Which seems like a small difference to us ’cause they’re both great places to live!

Finland:

Finland has a pretty good internet speed according to the population size, being a little bit faster than Norway and Denmark.

Germany:

Germany has a very low internet speed compared to most countries on this list. I bet they would improve it if it weren’t for all those pesky hackers dividing from their country! It’s less than half as fast as Switzerland’s speed which is 16 Mbps.

Latvia:

Latvia has a fast internet speed and it is only 0.1 Mbps less than Germany’s! Isn’t that amazing? The difference between those two countries speeds is as big as the difference between their populations. It’s not much, considering that there are over 800 000 people living in Latvia!

Belgium:

Belgium has a pretty good internet speed for being so small. They have an average of 7 Mbps which is pretty low compared to 15+ Mbps other countries have. But at least they’re faster than Russia.

Romania:

Romania’s 4.3 Mbps isn’t a lot, but it is still better than most Eastern European countries. It’s also more than twice as fast as their neighbours Hungary’s speed which is only 1.8 Mbps.

United Kingdom:

The United Kingdom has a very good internet speed, being 5 times faster than Russia’s and 10 times faster than the US’s (the last 2 places on this list). But why would they be so slow? They have such an amazing country!

Estonia:

Estonia, the land of Skype, has an amazing internet speed considering its small size. It’s 2 times faster than Russia’s speed which is 3.2 Mbps.

United States:

The United States has really bad internet speed compared to other countries on this list, but that doesn’t matter much for their population of almost 319 million! They are 6.5 times slower than South Korea, which is not bad at all! It only causes them to get the last place on this list…

Portugal:

Portugal isn’t a very fast country, with its 3.7 Mbps, but they are still way better than most Eastern European countries and it’s more than twice as fast as their neighbours (the 19th and last place) Hungary.

Hungary:

Hungary’s internet speed is very slow compared to its neighbours. It’s also less than half as fast as Portugal’s which is too bad considering that they’re both in Europe! Maybe it would be better if they could just divide themselves into 2 or more parts…

Russia:

Russia’s internet speed isn’t very good considering it has such a huge population! Their people are also 10 times slower than the US, making them the last country on this list.
